Why choose a career in home care?
Home care services have become increasingly popular due to the numerous advantages they offer. It allows you to build strong connections with your clients and their families, providing a sense of fulfilment that few other professions can offer.
Understanding the importance of dementia in home care services
Dementia is a complex condition that affects millions of people worldwide, and the need for specialised care is crucial. Caremark recognises this need and provides exceptional dementia focused home care services. By joining our team, you will have the chance to work with people living with dementia, supporting them in their daily activities and enhancing their quality of life. It is a unique and rewarding field that requires empathy, patience, and specialised training.
Qualifications and skills
Caremark ensures that all of our new Care and Support Workers undergo comprehensive induction training when they join the company. This training encompasses both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, facilitated by our skilled field care supervisors.
To maintain the highest standard of home care, our Care and Support Workers participate in annual mandatory training that focuses on essential skills.
You will need to travel to different service users’ homes, and so a valid driving licence is always useful for home care roles. It’s not always essential, but can be incredibly beneficial.
Do you need specific qualifications to join Caremark?
Whilst qualifications are important for any role, at Caremark, we care more about your personality and why you’re passionate about entering the home care industry. We’ll provide you with all the training you need, and many of our home care and support workers have already achieved or are actively pursuing the QQI level 5 award in Healthcare Support.
